2027 Ice Hole Festival Gear List
-
This document outlines the mandatory and recommended equipment needed to safely and comfortably participate in the festival. Please review it carefully and ensure you arrive fully prepared.
-
We strongly recommend taking time prior to the event to test your full gear configuration—including proper weighting—in a pool or other body of water. Attempting to dial in weighting for the first time in cold conditions is uncomfortable and avoidable. Be sure you are wearing ALL your undergarments when you are conducting your weight checks.

Participant Releases and Waivers
-
Forms must be completed, signed, and submitted prior to participation and are required for all participants, including returning attendees. (We would prefer you email the completed forms back at your earliest convenience, so that we can ensure everything is in order before you travel to IA)
-
All participants, regardless of certification agency, must complete and return the Special Event Release and Diving Medical Form.
-
PADI divers must also complete the attached PADI Liability Release and the PADI Continuing Education Document.
-
Certification Processing Worksheet
-
This worksheet ensures we have the necessary information to process your Ice Diving certification, if applicable.
-
Also, please send proof of Advance Open Water certification, and if you are diving in a dry suit, we will need proof of Dry Suit certification.
